TUKEN® 500 WG is a local systemic herbicide with limited translocation, with minimal translocation through xylem, it does not move through the phloem to the meristematic tissue and therefore requires contact with the susceptible tissue of the primordium for optimal action.

Formulation: Water soluble granules - WG
Mechanism of Action: Potent and specific inhibitor of phytoene dehydrogenase in carotenoid biosynthesis belonging to group F1 of the Herbicide Resistance Action Committee – HRAC. Without carotenoids, chloroplast development and chlorophyll biosynthesis are inhibited, there is no light absorption or protection against photoxidation generated by excess energy reaching the chloroplast, and in the presence of light free oxygen is released that destroys chlorophyll by bleaching tissue.
